STILL I RISE

Today was laid back. We read Still I Rise by Maya Angelou. While discussing and analyzing the poem, it opened my eyes in many aspects. My interpretation was to persevere through every obstacle that I go through and not let anything anyone say or do deter me from greatness. That I should value myself and not lower my standards for anyone. That I owe myself that much. I loved the poem honestly. I admired her strength and confidence in the words she wrote. She valued herself deeply and even though she’d been through many things she was determined to grow from it. It’s not many people who thinks like that. So, it was true inspiration.
