A Lesson Before Dying Chapter 11 Reflection

Grant visits Jefferson by himself. He tries to get Jefferson to open up by talking about the food Miss Emma sent, however Jefferson asks for corn. He said that hogs eat corn and human eat food and candy. Grant then tries to appeal to his emotions by telling him that Miss Emma would’ve broke down if she heard the things that he was saying. However, Jefferson wasn’t phased. Instead, he imitated the way hogs ate then stopped talking completely. Grant tells him that he is going to tell Miss Emma that he enjoyed the food.
